What BFT is doing

Export of agro-products from Bangladesh is trembling around USD 1 billion for a few years. Despite having immense potential in multiple products, the exports are not getting momentum due to not meeting importing country compliances. In order to support agencies, traders as well as producers to meet compliances, BTF is taking interventions using tools like availability of information, technological advancement, institutional strengthening etc.

Some of the focus areas include:

  • Establishment of International Trade Wing at agencies to coordinate trade-related activities
  • Developing database of product and market-wise importing country requirement
  • Automated system for managing contract farming and traceability
  • Support  to develop necessary documents and guidelines for addressing  meat and meat products export compliance issues
