BSTI- BTF Organized Workshop on CODEX

Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution (BSTI) and USDA-funded Bangladesh Trade Facilitation (BTF) project organized a workshop on CODEX to discuss and identify an Action Plan to implement Codex standards and best practices systematically. Food Standards and Food Regulatory Expert and President of Elect International Union of Food Science and Technology (IUFoST), Dr. Samuel Godefroy recommended that a Codex strategy for Bangladesh be developed explaining Bangladesh's position in the upcoming Codex Regional Meetings with representation at the national, regional, and global levels. The Codex Strategy for Bangladesh 2024-27 aims to strengthen the Codex Program by improving its foundation, structure, and management. Once approved by the National Codex Committee, it will lead to yearly business plans with clear performance indicators. Regular reviews will help keep the plans on track and ensure the program meets its goals for 2024-27.
